Hello Everyone! Thanks. Yes Randy, i think that i have some information, but now i am searching some european, even portuguese's store to order the material that i need. I really want to cast some cars in Resin, especially in clear resin. I found a french store, they have a lot of clear resins, i have to email them some information to witch one is the most apropriate to the models i want to cast. Resin PU, epoxy, etc...a little bit confuse for me. Friendly yours Álvaro PS: Thanks Robert too! There is the link, take a look:http://www.espritcomposite.com/
Mark, Not neccessarily free, but don't you have access to some young, energetic, cheap labor that needs some practice and money on the side? ;-) Randy
Alleydude, If you are still looking, I just saw about six different Marklin sets in my LHS. All full retail, but they've got two different truck sets, two different "modern" European (i.e. German) automobile sets in plastic and the two recent metal 1930's to 1950? era German vehicle sets (one includes VW bug, VW microbus pick-up style, and a Citroen 2CV not common in the USA but I've seen em here). I wonder if anyone has ever taken one of those old style Marklin cars and hot rodded it? Might be able to make some facsimily of a Deuce coup. ;-) Randy
The skills required are uncommon - most 3D CAD technicians are skilled in parametric solid modeling but that is of little use in this application. What is required is a combination of mesh modeling and detailed knowledge of the chosen RP process. It is time-consuming and at the end of the day the returns from sales of the resulting vehicles have to more than cover CAD, RP, overheads and manufacturing charges.
I found these painted MZZ (Germany) vehicles on Zbay, painter and being sold by Ron Owens of the UK. He does not have an e-bay store set up yet but you can see what he has from the pix/link below and then either search for him on Zbay or e-mail him at: ronzzrll@yahoo.com (that's #11 not two LL's)
Garth Hamilton posted a link to the new Pro Z items due out later this year. It looks like they will have 4 different automobiles in a pack of eight. No pricing or availability yet. Here is a direct link to the autos: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10057141 Randy
Thomas Coomans TCM.Z autos??? OK, I found the issue of ZTrack where John Bartolotto reviewed these vehicles, the July-August 2003 ZTrack. He's from Belgium not the Netherlands. Here is another review I found online: "Thomas Coomans from Belgium manufactures different automodels for the size Z. It places very beautiful and inexpensive cars of the marks Citroen, Fiats, mini and Volkswagen in proportions very true to nature ago (, 60's, 70's 50's; without windows). A manufacturer, whom one should promote by Abverkauf. Closer data and photos are to be found under www.spur-z-online.de/infos/html/info2.htm. Address: TCM.Z, Bergstraat 1c, B-3770 Riemst, Tel. 0 (032) 12 456251, fax 0 (032) 12 454325, E-Mail: tcm.z@tiscali.be Bernd Klabunde" The website is still there but appears to be inactive or broken now. I sent an email to Thomas to see if I can get an update. I really want some of the minis and Fiats. I want to see if I can make the Luigi character from the CARS movie. My son gave the idea. ;-) If anyone else has any recent info on these, please let me know. Randy
Same person selling them from the other auction listed. They had lightning fast delivery, the package showing up here two days after payment was made. I'd recommend them to anyone interested. The Marklin cars seem just a bit small compared to my other Z-Scale vehicles I have. Might just be that the other vehicles I have are a bit big, but compared to my Z-Scale figures I have on my layout, I'd say the cars are small. That's okay, I'll fit them in. I wouldn't mind seeing a scientific comparison of all available vehicles. Would make an interesting article. Unless there has already been one...???
