I know it is microsoft in the forum but has anyone tried the Trainz simulation by Auran where you build a model railroad? Just looking for input.

Just started playing with this product.

To me this product is to Model Railroads as MSTS is to Prototype Railroading. Past that I will hold my comments until the next service pack is released. Changes that are being spoken about should enhance this package drastically.

    Just found this...

    I love it!!

It is a bit quirky, but I only have the first release.
It is easy to use, the water effects are a lttle hard
to adjust, but cool when done.
Also, the MODs at the website greatly enhance
    the sim.

By the way it runs fine on a semi-shot PII-300mhz PC with 120meg RAM.
I do have a sweet video card though. [IMG]

I found when TrainSim came out that the most inportant things were a good video card and a lot of ram. Third on the list would be CPU speed.

In case anyone is interested, this month's Model Railroader (Feb Issue) has an article on both TrainZ and MSTS.

The first picture in the article, the AC44s pictured in TrainZ, is from my layout!

I guess it goes without saying, but I think TrainZ rules! OK, I guess I just said it.

I have had the program for a couple of days now. The only thing is the paperwork that you get with the program. There is not much.

But there is a great forum, with lots of help
