...in todays railroad life! These were very dangerous! Mike K "6206_S1a" had taken this picture durring his vacation, an I'm just now getting around to posting them all...... Alot might growl at me for posting this..... Anyone have any insight on these rare things ??? Here's another rarity! Again, anyone with some insight??? ENJOY!
Last time I saw similar items, they were also in a museum setting. Am certainly glad for safety improvements. And motorized equipment! Boxcab E50
The hand car thing is wild tho! Imagineseeing one of those goin down the tracks today! HA! That be a sight from yesteryear! As for the safety things an all. YES I'm as glad as you are to have them! Those link an pin couplers claimed alotta lives in the past! Dangerous things they were! But I thought a picture of these would be interesting for those who may have not seen them before!
Some of the people in our G scale group at the museum were using link and pin couplers and after much frustration ended up taping them together with electrical tape! Isisn't that second thing called a velicopede?
cthippo, Yes, I know the link an pin couplers in G scale can be nasty, I was part of a club once that used them also an taped them together! I was like go to knuckeles an stop the problem! As for the velicopede, yes! Thats what it was called But I'll be danged if I could think of the name of the things, an even then to spell it... But your right! Some machine tho, as it looks!
