From 04/13/1990 at Cook Springs, AL is a work train led by the 4112. We're about 20 miles east of NS's big yard at Irondale AL near Birmingham on the main to Atlanta.
Went back at looked at this shot again, better everytime I look at it-2 high nose Geeps, a perfect curve WITH a bridge and all!! Excellent shot!
Thank you. As a friend and I set up for the shot, we heard car doors slam and voices below. My friend went down to see what was up and was greeted by two local men, one armed with a rifle. They were angry and asked my friend what we were doing there. When he explained that we were there only to take train pictures, the men settled down and all was well. It seemed that someone had chosen that spot to dump garbage a few days before and it was their sister's property.
