I went to check the Western Pacific group for new posts and see that it is gone. Several other groups that I joined are also missing. Were they removed? I missed some news somewhere along the line.

Groups that are not regularly updated get removed. The Western Pacific group hadn't seen a post since May. I was sad to see it go, but I didn't have anything to add and neither did anyone else it seems.

    Hi Dave,

The TrainBoard groups are a fun way to interact in specific areas of interest, however we want them to remain active. Groups that cease to attract activity after several months are closed down as per these previously established guidelines.

All it takes is a single current post to show continued interest in a certain group. Stourbridge Lion has labored to keep interest levels high by providing advanced notice to group managers and members of groups that flirt with the inactivity cut-off. Unfortunately, even with Darren's notices, some groups eventually fall off the grid.

The best way to ensure the longevity of any group which interests you is simply to keep contributing to it. :)

We do have a Western Pacific forum in our Fallen Flags category.

The fallen flags forums are a great place to stay in touch and share news worthy items with regard to your favorite railroad.

On the outside of TrainBoard, groups are having a hard time keeping their head above water. With times being what they are and disposable income dropping off many are lagging behind and unable to maintain the cost of websites.

Here, we still need donors to cover the cost and anything you can contribute will certainly be appreciated. Collectively we can keep our heads above water and continue having fun.

    So very true.

We had some excellent quality N and HO scale items donated recently, (A VERY BIG THANK YOU to members Polski and ratled!), which we then auctioned off to help us defray operating costs. In these times of minimal discretionary cash, should anyone have any item(s) they'd consider donating, please contact me by PM and we can discuss possibilities.

In fact, using the Fallen Flag forums related to modeling that railroad is a great usage and those posts/topics are not subject to be purged like TB Group are. We actually prefer that TB Groups not duplicate TB Forums.

I was also a member of the WP group. I tried to add what I could, but I ran out of ideas and photos. The HCD group is also in danger of getting removed. We can only do so much and when we can't the administrators will do what they have to do.
