Been meaning to post this every time I'm soldering but forget. Got one of these...

... a couple years ago and love it. No more fumes in my face all the time and don't need a fan blowing on me. I solder 2-3 times further away than shown in the image and it still draws the smoke away. I feel a lot better health wise using it vs. the situation that has gone on for years. Pondered spending the money on it but no regrets. A description... ( HERE )... and you can find them a number of places.

Saw it, liked it, got it, love it!
Thanks for posting this. We have parrots so fumes are always a concern. I tend to solder when I can open windows and this has allowed me to solder whenever and wherever (almost) with no worries.

That's interesting. I wonder if it works with fumes from other things as well? Am adding it to my Amazon wish list. Maybe the CFO will order it if I'm lucky.

I wonder if it works with smoke from burning some kinds of weeds, or something...

"No m'am; I'm just soldering on my railroad. Wow, that solder really stinks!"

I'm surprised this works as well as it does. So many low-cost knockoffs on Amazon tend to be "you get what you pay for," but this one seems a better value. Thanks for the tip!

On a side note, does it have nuclear power? If I overload it, will it go Chernobyl on me?:rolleyes::LOL:

So.... THAT's what caused the horrendous wind-storms lately!
