This little short line is my model rr. It was a Copper Mine till About 2000 and then it became to expensive to mine further so they closed down the mine and after all the upgrades they distroyed the smelter including the stack. This line was one of three in the area with Magma being the biggest one from Magma to Superior Arizona. There is a chance that the Magma line may reopen but they would have to make three more miles of track to the new mine. Have to wait for enviromental studys to complete in late 2009. The ray mine is still in operation and running everyday from what I have been able to find out, The "San Manuel Arizona rail road company" is a dead line for good but There are rumors that they may open the smelter and rebuild it for the San Manuel folks to have a job again! Time wil tell.
That is pretty much the history about this piece of rr history.I am older by two years and have out lived it as well! The only thing left to do is finish it. And if someone could help me figure out how to put the name in yellow with blue outline in the Avator in my part of handle i would thank them much. The SMARRCO may be dead and the track pulled up and tressles tore down but the memory lives on in these sites and our model railroads. Thanks, Dan PS, here is a link to my little short line,

San Manuel Arizona Railway Co. :tb-biggrin:
