I have tried some searches but not much luck does any one have infomormation on the power for the Ski Train? I'm fairly sure the new power is all F40's but I would like some more informaton. Riding the Train this Saturday. Thanks Steve
There are variations on occasion, but it is the trio of F40's generally. At Big Ten curve: At Blue Mountain Rd: Threading Tunnels 12 and 13: At Tunnel 27:
According to http://www.gobytrain.us/amtrak/notes/#F40 , 242, 283 and 289 are the same as their old Amtrak numbers. Then http://www.trainweb.org/emdloco/f40ph.htm says that they're all F40PHRs, 242 built in 1977 and the others in 1978.
Wow! Nice shots, '2d! I had wondered where all those F40PH's had gone. I miss them. Most of those left in my area have been converted into cabbages for the Amtrak Cascades. They were everywhere for so long and then nowhere.
