Jeff, guys (and Candy) I am sorry I misused "How To" in the past..I merely thought it was only a matter of etiquette, not content or format..Should have read rules..Mea culpa..Won't occur again..Admin. may move or delete them at will if necessary, Mark PS (about a half hour later) Just realized this very post is probably in the wrong catagory ! So, apology again..
John, what on earth do you mean by " SPAMMER !!!!! " ? What, that I made amends to the forum i'm a spammer ? Serious or humorous it makes no sense whatsoever ! Is it a put down, flaming at me, or a joke ? Mark
If I can put on my philosopher hat for a second...I, too, believe John was trying to be humorous. I think that a lot of what is posted with the intent to be funny, though, often falls flat on the 'net owing to the lack of tone of voice and body language. Emoticons/smileys can go some way towards overcoming that, but not always, especially in cases where people don't really know each other. My sense of humor, for example, while received as intended by the folks I interact with in person would probably result in my being banned from many online forums. Caution is, therefore, the watchword.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have been labeled as an "Old Fogey" by fellow members of my Church's Board of Trustees, by my Sons, and especially by my 25+ year old Grandchildren for my dislike of reliance on electronic communications. However, as was so eloquently illustrated by the preceding posts, and the recent Trustees meeting, it is face-to-face personal contact and conversation that accomplishes the agenda quickly and without discord or confrontation normally resulting from misinterpretation of emotionless texted, posted, or e-mailed short-hand. Folks, we as a society are losing the ability to communicate with each other due to our love of electronic mono-syllabic expediency. We must reverse this trend or we will continue, even increase the probability of heated confrontational encounters. Sorry for the rant, but.......
Hi Mark, My intention was to keep things light, but you know how things said and especially written can be taken differently altogether. I'm just elbowing you in the side and giving you a hard time while your down. I am not sure the reason for your retraction and I jumped in and maybe put my foot in my mouth. I do hope it was not too upsetting. For the rest of you, a big thanks for having my back. Anyway Mark, one day one of us will have a decent railroad to share with the other as Riverside and LA are not that far apart.
SPAMMERS, ALL !!! Off with thy heads ! Once atrain, mulch tanks for all your kelp in this most silliest of batters, Mark
