Currently, I have a rotary switch...but it isn't installed (I'm concerned about it not being dummy proof since, well, I'm a dummy sometimes!). I hope to install it soon. I'll look into the servo motors...sounds like a fine idea. Michael
Michael, in the latest Issue 3 now available! | Model Railroad Hobbyist magazine there's an article about servos and even for a stub. Wolfgang
The second, last crossing is in work. You see, this crossing is also next to the segment border. This time I build it in place. When all rails are glued / soldered I cut the rails and separate the segments. You see I've a mix from PC board ties and Kappler ties. Wolfgang
Finished. Now comes wiring. The hardest part were the tiny inner guard rails. Remember: H0n3 code 55. Wolfgang
This time I've build the crossing in place, at the segment. So I used my usual iron, 30 Watt. It's not a pencil tip. At my desk I've a soldering station. There I soldered the first crossing, with 400°C, 750°F. Wolfgang
Yes, the frog juicer is a good device. But I have to stay with a few switches, these are less expensive. And here more work. I've soldered and glued down the first stub switch. This is - like all narrow gauge track - code 55. I have still to build my usual push pull device. And I have started finishing the two bridges. Wolfgang
The bed of the creek has got a first paint layer. But blue doesn't look right. So I airbrushed some thinned black. Last step I airbrushed some dark green.
With the dark green it looked good. Now I poured glossy varnish into the creek. It was necessary to level the modul. The modul border was taped. This remembers me the land where milk flows. Well, in a few days I will see. Wolfgang
Now all track is laid down, only the mine spur missing. I have to wire the segments, then I can test run. And take more pictures. Wolfgang
