The nonprofit Pacific Locomotive Association, which operates the Niles
Canyon Railway, is sponsoring a double headed steam excursion over the
    Sierra
Railroad on Nov. 4 from Oakdale to Cooperstown and back, a 38-mile round
    trip.
Powered by Sierra No. 28 and Virginia and Truckee No. 18, formerly of the
McCloud River Railroad, the train will feature vintage Southern Pacific
    Harriman
coaches and two of the only three Mountain Observation cars ever built.
The train is scheduled to leave Oakdale at 9 a.m. and, after various photo
    run-bys, return about 5 p.m.
Tickets are $75 per person for association members, $89 for non-members.
Bring a lunch or buy one (beef, chicken or vegetarian) for $7. Order
    both from
PLA/Key Holidays, 1141 Bont Lane, Walnut Creek, CA 94597.

    John-

Has the 18 now been repainted to V&T? Haven't heard much about this for a while.

That's what I thought. The way the news was written, had me wondering otherwise.
