Here is mine !! He loves his trains. If he fell and cracked his head , I am sure locomotives would fall out !! Gavin with his new Ferromex (thanks to Matt at FVM). Mike
Oddly enough, my 5-year-old doesn't dig trains as much as he did a year ago, but my 9-year-old daughter IS totally into it, not only driving the trains & doing switching ops, but especially the tree building: My other helper is sneaking into the photo on the right: Though, oddly enough, after awhile that fine Racer 5 IPA becomes more of a fumble fingers than a helping hand. [I don't let either helper work the circular saw, though] Daughter's in to it (trains, not the beer) so much that we've started designing a small layout for her/us to work on over the summer. The legacy gets passed on!
Wow she has made some fantastic trees. I suppose we would break some child labor laws if we were all to hire her !!!! Great work !!! Mike
Yep and he knows most of the DCC functions on that MRC wireless , and yes , all of his stuff is DCC . He also HO and G. Mike
Thanks Mike! The trees are collab efforts: not quite ready to send her off into the garage with the power drill to twirl trees all on her own yet Let's see: if she wants her own car at 16, and I pay 5 cents a tree... I'm just happy she's into it!
Not the best picture but: "Grandure Lady" was involved with the layout from the 2nd time we met, (over 2 years ago). The GandG has come a long way since she came into my life. Cory, (but he is not as cute), also deserves a lot, er a huge amount of credit for where the GandG is today.

Mike, You have met these two rascals. They were 3 & 5 when this picture was made. You can see the controllers layng on the table top. They were "running" their trains, not playing. They are now 5 & 7 and have lost a little interest. They would rather be outside playing. I need to get some dcc throttles to go with my pro-cab set for them to use. This summer, I plan on getting them to help smear glue, dirt and grassy stuff on the scenery. Think they will like making a mess ? ? ? Carl
Here's TwinGirl, laying down a base coat of paint for her switching layout... I don't have a handy train shot of TwinBoy, but he helps out, too... he's the primary junior engineer...
heres mine taken last year when she just turned 3 will be four soon. She still turns my chair around and pushes me over to the build table and say PAPA we now work. rich www.rslaserkits.com
Ha ha! No, that was a result of an unrelated incident... She'd kill me if I didn't post this shot of HER little helper... Ten years old and she still loves this cow...
Here is my little helper my son James. Of course he has his own layout that he put together all by himself, all that clutter in the middle of his layout is as he call them houses like on dad's layout. And his thomas trains still go around the track.
