I plan on having two possibly three Anthracite mines on my "N" scale road. I'm familiar with Coal mines, Collieries or Breakers, and the surrounding Culm or coal dirt piles, having grown up in late Anthracite days of PA. I would love to see some examples of how you've modeled them, in any scale. Also I'm thinking of someday also modeling the underground part. Ever seen that on a layout ? Thanks, Dave
I'm suprized no one has responded to this. I don't model coal country but know it is popular. I hope someone responds with pictures for you.
hopefully, i will be able to show a mine soon, not just a tipple or other loading facility, but an actual mine. still in the planning stage, i am gathering items for a surface coal mine. small dragline, loaders, dosers, maybe a shovel, haul trucks. also will have a "prep plant" with stackers for different sizes of coal. like i said this maybe months as i am still recovering the trainroom from IVAN repairs. david
