Hey Guys, Can anyone tell me of a web site or good layout book with shelf plans in it. I have a space opening up in my train room for a shelf about 2' wide and 10' to 12' long. All the sites I found Only have one or two plans in them and I would hate to buy a whole book for just one plan. I'm just trying to get some rough ideas, then I can customize them to suit my purpose. Also one end of the layout will go through a wall and eventualy be added on to my larger layout that I am planning. Thanks ahead of time for any help!!

You might want to check some MR back issues - there are several good shelf plans published in recent years (Linda Sand and David Barrow have put together some really excellent ones) Mostly desiged for 8 foot long pairs of modules (they call them dominos but that is a whole 'nuther story.)

Might be cheaper than books that only have a few shelf plans.

on line I know about Mike's Small Trackplans

http://www.atlasrr.com/ has several track plans from their books on line too.

And here is one I have been kicking around for a while (50mm grid, no 6 turnouts, HO)

I believe the layout that won 2nd place in MR's layout design contest this year was a 2' x 10' layout. I can't remember which issue it was in. I built Atlas' Southside Connecting HO-26 (substituting Peco large switches and flex track) and it is great operating fun. You could add more track or leave more room for structures and scenery since you have even more space to work with! www.atlasrr.com/products/fanlayout/holayout/ho26.html

Hey Rob and Pete thanks for your help. I looked in the Atlas layouts before but I must have missed #26. I think it just might something I could work with. I could lenghten it by about a foot and stretch it out wider. Thanks again!!
