I was digging around in the archives (the shoebox ) and decided to scan in some more older photos for my website. I just recently completed scanning and posting links to some Southern/NS SD40's and SD45's, so I thought I'd do the same for CSX units. Here is my first unit: Harold
Here's another unit: As you can tell, the Family Lines lettering faded significantly over time Harold
Here's a shot of a "meet" the unit facing the camera is "Northbound" while the other is Southbound. Harold
This unit has been relettered differently from the other; "SBD" has been placed in front of the road numbers on the side of the cab ( A position previously held by "L&N" sublettering, as these unit were originally L&N SD40's.) Harold
Thanks for the kind words, Alan. Those pics brought some fond memories of sitting trackside and not having to wait all day to see not just one, but a bunch of trains! I would regularly pack up a camera bag with 2 cameras, a bunch of film, and regularly chase trains around town (they were plentiful back then). Another thing that was fun was to watch the locos thru various renumberings and repaintings. I have some that are in up to 3 different scheme! Harold
