SD70MAC release, as there is a major difference between the SD70, SD70M/I, and SD70MAC. I'm still waiting on the SD70/M release - Athearn maybe?

I put one of each of the BNSF units on reserve. My wife will kill me before I ever get to enjoy them....

Dude...if my Aggie math is correct, that's like 20 engines. My wife would shoot me. Heck...she'll probably shoot me for ordering the four I did....

Hoss, if you're an Aggie, I think you spent too much time at the Chicken instead of going to "Intro to Counting to 20 without taking off your boots". :D

Anyway, 5 of each BNSF scheme that Kato is offering would be 10 instead of 20.

5 of each BNSF road number would give you 20, though.

Or, you may have been referring to actual BNSF schemes (not Kato's) in which case you would have been a little closer. From my Aggie accounting skills, I can think of five schemes of 70MAC's belonging to BNSF.
    1. BN Executive
    2. Vommit Bonnet
    3. BNSF Executive w/BN Logo
    4. BNSF Executive w/BNSF Circle Logo
    5. BNSF Heritage-II
There may be more...I'm not sure (somebody correct me if there are more to add)...but that would give you 25 locomotives.

Me, I just got six of the Execution scheme on order. (yes, you read it right. Like Hoss, my wife may kill me)

I am looking forward to the release as well. According to Kato's description of the units, I may pick up some CR and CSX units.

I have to say the Executive version looks great, even though I'm not a BNSF modeller I may just have to buy one anyway as a run through on my layout :D

Gats they(Kato) said it has to do with the trucks and headlight. In my vast searching I can't figure it out either. Both have high headlight placement and I can't find the truck difference. But I know that if they did something wrong there are enough RIVET COUNTERS that would SHUN them.It is best to leave it to Kato.I hope for the BN's to come soon. The total 70mac's on my roster will then be 15 or 20.I can't begin to think what will happen when the SD75's come out.

P.s. Why no vomit bonnet? I would have bought it just for the heck of it.

BN units = upper light, BNSF units = lower light.
So they pass up 311 possible variations because of a headlight difference? Or make that 622 if you make the BNSF re-stencilled version of each BN unit as well.
As for trucks, there looks like little difference. Please correct me if I'm wrong - I'm working from photos. If they were HTR-E trucks, then that would be different. ;)

Pity they don't provided painted but unlettered units - I'd redo the headlight myself! (Don't fancy painting it - besides, I don't have the equipment with me to do so.)

    Wrong headlight placement... :D

Actually, the model that Kato is producing has the upper light, which is appropriate for ALL BN Exec, Vomit Bonnet, BNSF Exec, and BNSF H-II from number 9400 right up to and including number 9864. The lower headlight started with 9865 in Dec 97. So then it boils down to the trucks, plus a few panels here and there, and I think a minor change in walkways/steps.

The low-headlights appear on 9865-9999 and 8800-8984? which I think are the "Mexi-MACS", thus the change was made when production was moved to Mexico....but don't quote me on that.

So, do like I did and buy the BNSF Execs and re-decal them for BN. (yeah, like that's an easy task, but anyway) I'm comfortable with the discrepancies, but I understand why Kato didn't do BN, because there would have been a major rebellion probably.
