hello you all have been so helpfull in the past.i was wondering what the actual paint scheme is on the sd60macs the bn had?the green is not bn green from what i can tell and i can't tell if the white is cream colored or not. i am going to paint up a couple of these units for my train set.any help would once again be very appriciated. ------------------ ed pinkley home of the pinkley taurus
As far as I can ascertain, it is what could be loosely called a 'pastel olive'. I don't know of any definitive guides to colour mixing this shade of green. If anyone knows, I'd like the info too! The 'white' is white. Gary.
Olive is somewhat close, but it is green. And from what i remember the white is white! I'd try to look at as many pics as i could because the color looks different almost every time. Does anyone have any idea where these units are at the present? They're not on BNSF anymore...
The SD60MAC's were a lighter shade of green than the BN green and also they were white not the cream color that are on the SD70MAC's. I think they mixed some white in with that BN green to create the green. I will look at the photo's I have of them again to be sure. To answer tunnels question were are they now. They are at EMD being test loads for those pieces of crap they call SD90MAC's. Tunnel Major understatment until EMD gets those things road ready without happening to have any other locos help. They will always be pieces of crap. I think that loco is by far the most unreliable they have put out. Now I might be eating my words after the bugs get workout. but until then ???
