I've worked with a variety of scratchbuilding materials, but when I use cardstock I always get warps in the walls no matter how much I brace them, a question for scratchbuilders, how would I stop the warping...especially with larger footprint buildings? Any help would help
Hi Ed, With cardstock, I also use stripwood which strengthens the card anyway. In each corner I put a triangle piece to brace it. This link to my website on scratchbuilding will show it better. http://www.paultemplar.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/sbs.htm [ 06 April 2002, 21:26: Message edited by: Paul Templar ]
I always use a strip of something (depending on what I'm working with) glued at a right angle to the wall .For long walls I may do this at several levels.I prefer my bracing to be at least 1" wide. My preferred scratchbuilding material is styrene but after seeing what Paul T. and Robin are doing with cardboard I'm beginning to have second thoughts.
