    I cannot locate a "manufactured" n-scale stagecoach.

So, I was considering carving the curved body, adding scale lumber and/or plastics details, then purchasing wagon wheels.

Has anyone tried to do this? If so, what materials/techniques did you use?

That's not a bad plan. A company called Smokey Mountain Miniatures makes N-scale covered wagons, railway wagons, etc. that will probably give you a good head start with a frame and wheels, plus they come with horses. Don't forget to show us some pictures when you get it done! :)

One of these days (months), I plan to model a stagecoach for 3D printing.

Ever since I first saw this photo, I've always wanted to model it:
(Have it on my model railroad... I do NOT want to have to scratch build 30+ stagecoaches.)

Hmm, I wonder if I could get Wells Fargo to fund this project....

Other than the models listed above, no manufactured stagecoach currently exists in N Scale.

RSLaser makes a laser cut wood farm wagon that you could modify to a stage coach http://www.rslaserkits.com/N-Details.html or you could contact RSLaser and ask them to custom cut you one.

Cool picture, but ya think 30+ stagecoaches on 15+ cars plus more cars in back are a little,uh, "optimistic",for that 4-4-0,LOL!!!

Here is the almost finished stagecoach. I made it from sheet styrene. The wheels are cast white metal.

Does anyone have a suggestion about what I can use for reins?

    AWESOME STAGECOACH Shawn!!!

I'd probably just use brown thread for the reins. :)

    That looks great!

    You work quick!

for the reins, yeah, either thread or small wire.

Long ago when i built model cars, there was a trick for using thread to simulate motor wiring. dip it in liquid model glue and let it hang dry. I was a kid and always made a mess so it never really worked for me, maybe youll have better luck.

Looks great! How about some super-thin magnet wire for the reins? Paint it dark brown and bend it just right and I think that'll do the trick.

Use human hair for the reins. Really, no joke.

Thanks for the input, I'll have to experiment.

...and if I clean up my workbench, I'm sure to find the hair I pulled out while making the coach.
