Hi Scott, Welcome to the Train Board, glad to have you on board. We'll be happy to help you in any way. What type layout are you considering? Meridian is a great location to use as a concept with its three railroads connecting and exchanging traffic. The last time I visited Meridian for Rail Days, more than 10 years ago, there was an HO club on the second floor of a large building one or two blocks east of the station. I've heard rumors that the club may have moved to the old REA building and rail museum near the station, but I don't have any confirmation of that. If the club is still operating, that would be an excellent place to talk with some "old head" modelers and get experience.
