If interested in a copy please let me know as I will be purging the video from my PC shortly to work on another project. This is a FREE Video, just asking people to either cover the cost of a blank DVD & Shipping Costs or to send a Blank DVD in a SASE to me. Video is 62 minutes long (DVD Format) and covers Railfan footage of the 36-axle Schnabel Rail Car on April 15, 2005 when it came to Denver from various people. See some short clips - Click Here
The video is FREE, outside a person from South Africa I've asked people to send me a blank DVD in a SASE and I burn a copy and send it back; that way you control 100% of the costs.
If it's not too late, I'd like to get a copy as well. Email me (slambo@tds.net) your address and I can do the DVD+SASE option over the weekend. Thanks!
Got Hank's and a person from South Africa's DVD's burned Sunday and will have them in the mail soon. No mail serivce today (MLK Holiday) but hope to see then other DVD's arrive soon so I can get those burned and back to the rest of you also. WIll keep you updated as they arrive and if there are others that want a copy please speak up now before I erase the video from my PC to start another project.
Three (3) more DVD's arrived in the mail yesterday and I plan to get them burned and back into the mail this weekend.
Nope, not to late. Will keep producing them as long as I know there are requests coning in. Shipped 5 more out today including one to South Africa.
Got two more blank DVD's in the mail today and I understand one more letter is coming. Hope to get them burned over the weekend as a group. Well keep you posted.
Glad so many are enjoying this and I will keep bruning copies as long as there are requests coming in.
... I only mention because, depending on your technology and internet connection, it's possible to compress and send files of varying size with decent enuff quality... Depending on the length of the original source, it could be possible to get decent quality in a file size say, 'tween 50 and 100 woo woo woo (or even larger) which is quite "sendable" over many file sharing platforms.
I'm dial-up (28K) and we are talking Gigs. I'm not a big fan of the file sharing sites either; but, thats me and nothing against those that use them legally.
... understood about the dial up... even with a 50MB file, that'd be some serious upload time. ... understood about file sharing. I might have misunderstood, but I thought the video belonged to you and you were distributing it gratis with a supplied blank DVD. If it was your own material, then you'd be free to distribute it pretty much as you'd see fit, and while I understand that a lot of illegal "sharing" goes on through such sites, a lot of legitimate sharing of very large files takes place there as well. Again, I respect your choices and was merely exploring options. Oh, and I guess I wasn't very clear... I was talking about file sharing sites as opposed to peer to peer (Kazaa, Bit Torrent, etc.) [ January 29, 2006, 09:12 AM: Message edited by: Akirasho ]
