    Has anyone ever tried using Paraffin wax blocks to make molds for scenery.. side walks rock facing etc etc???

    Yes.

    Paraffin sticks to plaster.

    Use silicone rubber to make molds for plaster castings, it holds finer detail too. There are various grades, but most is elastic enough to even pull out from undercuts. That can't be done with wax or plaster molds.

    no i havent. thse type of molds i use at the moment r the 1s from woodland senics. if u want 2 make sidewalks look old and make 'em, go to http://www.ami-roadbed.com/

    I’ve had success using aluminum foil by either crumpling it up and then carefully un-crumpling it, or forming it around tree bark. Use silicone spray (or even “PAM” cooking oil) to lubricate before pouring in the plaster.
