Do you mean the "Dog House" for the head brakeman seen on the rear of older Coal Tenders, or a house for an "N" scale dog like out in the back yard of a home?
For the head-end brakeman on the top of the tender........... BTW I checked the internet for this item and did not find it N Scale Supply has a full listing of Scale Replica detail parts but not the dog house. They do list an SR catalog though Go here http://nscalesupply.com/SCA/SCA.html eNjoy Don B
Have you tried Details West? I don't know if they have a Doghouse, or if they even have a website, but their stuff is carried by Walthers.
Casey, in "N" scale it seems easy to cut a small block of balsa wood shaped to look the right size and shape from a photo. Paint it black, or to match, your tender, then glue it in place. Unless you are going to take really close up photos, the human eye would not percieve any detail like hinges or door handles anyway. Who would know besides you and me? (I wont tell
Casey, Making N-scale doghouse from building kit or old loco shell parts lying around in your trash box is the way to go. The only doghouse I've seen to scale is the one on the ConCor Y6b 2-8-8-2 Mallet. ConCor shows the tender as a part to buy, but no doghouse. I've made three and plan to make another. Door and window sides can be found in building kits, roof is flat stock with front overhang. I even added a small wire railing at front door. They look just fine. ...Eddie
making one from scratch shouldnt be hard---theyre should be some hobby shops out there that still have scale replica doghouses---but i dont know where----is strange nobody else makes a kit----a lot of roads used them on their steamers
