Thanks for the information Jerry. I stand corrected. I knew the story of the two-tone grey cars, and wrongly thought that all of ATSF's former Pullman cars received the same treatment (as far as the lettering is concerned).

Nice work on those chair cars Russell. Did you use window panels from diners (or something else) or just cut away the windows and make your own? In the years before M&R made sides, I did one car that I lettered as an 11oo series rebuild (avoided the SE air conditioning), but never got close to your level of detail.

Those are M&R sides. The only way to go.

I should have guessed- I just don't think about a car as a Rivarossi once I put M&R sides on it. Between 3000s, a smoker and a divided coach, I have 7 M&R chair cars underway, 3 on Rivarossi "cores" and the others will use MT or some old PRB parts I picked up in an auction. My first experiment with doing my own casting is an attempt to "clone" some PRB roof hatches from a brass 3060. Hopefully, I get close to the job you have done on yours.

Thanks, here is how my Jim Crow (Divided Chair) and a Chair Smoker turned out.
