Hi all Going through my photos and I came across this one. Its an SP westman near Rosamond, CA. The third unit back is a ATSF Kodachrome C30-7? This photo was taken in around 1994, 95. Was it rare to see a Kodachrome ATSF unit in this time? SP units could be seen into 1996 etc. Wanted to share this with you Santa Fe guys!:tb-biggrin:
A number of the ATSF C30-7s made it all the way till retirement post BNSF merger in Kodachrome. I never saw any personally much past a year after the denial of the SP-ATSF merger but they made it. It could be an ATSF unit.

I know of SP Kodachromes lasting into the UP merger and at least to 1998. ATSF eliminated all Kodachromes by 1990, but in many cases this was due to sale and not repainting. The C30-7s were the largest such group. After lease servce, many of these went to BNSF, but all are gone now. TP&W ended up with some GP20s, some of which were Kodachrome and one of which still is, last I heard. It might just be the last Kodachrome left.
