Don't forget, Friday at the Meyersdale Station! 9 am sharp! I'd love it if one of you guys could post a picture of me presenting something to the boys of the Meyersdale Historical Society!

Alright, I know an excellent spot on the banks of the Yadkin River to photograph trains as they come across the NS bridge. Also, there's some good places along High Rock Lake where a shortline grazes the edge of the lake.
SOUNDS GOOD! I love short lines. I'd rather watch them than mainline stuff. (sort of) Shortlines are almost family run, so to speak. It all depends too on whether the MRS. comes along. She might not be into chasing trains but she'll give in! LOL! Actually she brings me luck. The one and only time she went down to the railroad with me in Piqua, OH, I saw 4 trains in 15 minutes! That was a record!
I've never seen a train on the Southbound near the lake, but I could probably look into the scheduling somewhere and find out when the daytime switch run goes down to High Rock Yard... The only through freights run in the middle of the night.
I will be pulling out of here at 4AM Friday morning. Mapquest says it is a 4 hour drive so that gives me an hour to spare. Looking forward to meeting all of you and watch'in some hard pullin trains. See you at the depot at 9AM.
It's 3 am and I'm getting ready to leave. I've slept about 15 minutes all night. My worst fear is walking 6 blocks to get the car at 3:30 am. Lol. I'm leaving my wallet at home until I come back for my bags! Good luck Herman! See ya Friday morn!
