Does anyone have info on a wreck (derailment)
on Seaboard's Charleston sub-division south of
Hollywood, S.C. in the early 1960's?

Darn! Hoped the ICC site would have it.

How about local newspapers? Would local police or fire have responded?

I seem to remeber the front page photo in the local newspaper as being full-color of "Jolly Green Giant" boxcars (loaded with Ballentine ale/beer) being scattered around. But the date??

Think full-color newspaper photos were rare at that time. Did, at that site, find the report on the SAL derailment at the Ogeechee river bridge in 1959.

Also, did not find report on derailment of "Silver
Meteor" at Ulmers, S.C. in 1964 - which is sort of strange.

But again, thanks for the help. Will peruse this site more closely when I have the time.

    Dave,
Try the ACL / SAL Historical society website. They have a Q&A forum.
