In a reply I made to Athearn News for coming outr with the RS-3's in both Southern schemes, I also reminded them of the Seaboards' ~80 units of this model - the reply was that they would be out in the next batch of roadnames, "... in approximately four to five months."

In that reply, I thanked them for the Southern units, again this is another more public thanks and perhaps you four or five other Seaboard modelers in HO could do the same.

Dave. I have this feeling that those RS 3's will be rolling on your layout.

I also like the RS 3 units, however thus far MTH has not issued them in the premier line.
They could show up in the 2006 VII next month.

This really will be problem should MTH also issure the ACL SD 35's and SAL SDP 35's as I also need three each of them.

The Central of Georgia E-8's may be released, if so they are on the purchase list.

    That is major money.

Maybe I should apply for a GI load.

Larry - You have that exactly right. Though not common north of Savannah, one did see them on through freights, and - since this is my interpretation - I can see them on locals #66/67.

Have an FP-7 in Southern on order and an intent to get two FP-7's in ACL, 4 RS-3's (two in tuxedo, 2 in green) and - the SAL RS-3's (how many can I afford?) - I can see a lot of beans & rice or fish & grits.

Well my Seaboard RS-3's arrived yesterday - thanks Keith (Loco 1999), and they were definitely worth the wait. Beautiful paint jobs and very good runners, smooooth.

Athearn on the RS-3's in Seaboard and Southern have definitely outdid themselves. Prototypical horns with the proper mountings, orientation of bells and correct headlights matching both prototypes. The headlights on the Seaboards are the best factory supplied lights I've ever seen.
