Well, today was the day, the last train down the Woodinville Sub for freights. BNSF delivered two fuselages to Renton Boeing this morning, and that's the last. From now on, they will come thru Black River from the south end and the line from Renton north will be no more, unless somehow Sound Transit can coerce the powers to be, to run commuters over the line, instead of bikes!! But the tunnel over I-405 in Bellevue has to be torn out for another lane of traffic, so I can't see where the tracks can go from there 'cause this is the approach to the Wilberton trestle. Alot of pic's of the last run over on Railroadforums.com

A sad day indeed. While area "leadership" talks loudly of transportation needs, now and future, they deliberately allow a vital corridor to be destroyed. Brilliance on display! Taxpayers, hold on to your wallets. You'll get to pay for development of a replacement rail network. Sooner than you'd care to know...

Is that expensive? You mean when someone has to create a rail network and either retrofit it into the existing street system, elevate it, put it underground, or buy a right-of-way and knock down a bunch of buildings that it can get expensive?

    I am shocked!

    :tb-biggrin:
