AZL is well into the development of these old ALCO diesel engines. Hopefully the first units will be available at the end of the year. Prototypes will be shown at the NTS in Salt Lake City this Summer. As posted on the AZL Forum, ATSF, SP, NYC and PRR are all part of the first run.
Just curious. Will these have full pilots with body mount couplers or will it come with optional pilots in the box?
Excellent news !! Even if it doesn't match with my era nor my prototype. Keep on the good work, AZL ! Dom
This is a nice locomotive for small branch line layouts. /Frank Verstuurd vanaf mijn ANE-LX1 met Tapatalk
So far, the one preproduction pic they show over on AZL Forum, does appear to have an enclosed pilot.
Should start seeing them soon. Over on the AZL Forum, they have pics of all the roadnames they are doing so far, and it's alot of them!
I would suggest using our AZL Forum for the latest update on the RS and RSD releases. No pilot included since we are using a body mounted coupler. Hope to have the first releases out this Summer.
I will be getting at least 4 of the NP RS-3's. I seen the sample in SLC last summer, and it looks so nice!
