I am looking for RR art or Posters that depicit steam engines for my office. Shay's would be excellent esp Cass. I am also looking for other various pieces like Chessie. It either has to come from a magazine or inernet site. No model or hobby shops around me for at least an hour and they don't carry anything like that anyway. Any suggestions?
EJM3, any interest in New York Central? Leslie Ragan did some neat paintings of the system during steam days.
There is a site www.rediscoveredpaper.com that has some prints of the T-1 and the S-1 by Ramond Loewy, the industrial designer. They are a bit pricey but beautiful.
I thought that there might be something like this on the Cass Scenic RR official web site. But aside from the usual trinkets, (books, caps, t-shirts), they offer nothing in photos or art. Boxcab E50
I do drawings on request. If you do not find what you are looking for elsewhere and are interested on me drawing a certain locomotive, let me know. You can see some samples here: http://rush2ny.users5.50megs.com/artwork.html Russ
Check RAILFAN & RAILROAD magazine for ad for A F Staufer, Medina OH. I know he has an ad in there and I am sure that I have seen his ads in other RR magazines. He does real fine drawings of Locomotves, all different types. You might check CASS's website for prints for sale. I got two different prints when I was there last summer. MARK.
Thinking of this, I would like to get a decent picture (portrait) of the Cass "WEstern Maryland #6" 3 Truck Shay.... To add to my "Top 3 Favorite loco's" picture collection. I have a nice portrait of an EM-1, now to get a Shay, an then to get an M-2 Western Maryland Challenger, or a portrait of a C&O H-8 Allegheny..... Wouldn't even mind having a portrait of a B&O S-1 "Big Six" 2-10-2 or a P-7 Pacific portrait or both! [ 10. April 2003, 11:45: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
EJM3, Thinking of which, I got some RR art I'd sell or trade for something. Its nothing special but it is a Shay in the snow! Not Cass tho, but its decent size..... If you have any interest use the e-mail link in my signature and drop me a line in e-mail on it....
