Did Milwaukee ever have rotary plows? if so are there any online pictures? I got the idea from a post in the inspection pit.

    Andy-

The answer is quite affirmative. At least from the very beginning of Lines West. I've not delved into earlier times. But certainly they had them for winters on the prairies as well.

For on-line photos, will need to search a little. I'd swear to seeing them. But where was it.......?

Ken, I know what you mean. I thought I remembered seeing them online but can't remember where. It's just another project coming up! My list is getting pretty long now.

Ken, I don't know if you have been following the MOW post in the inspection pit? but I found the issue of MR that has the rotary plow conversions in it. They use the Athearns kit and change it from steam to diesel. They go on to say that UP, BN and Milwaukee used this type of plow. The Milw. ones where painted yellow, but no picture to see hearld placment or unit numbers. Just so happens I have one of the UP units sitting on a shelf, may be time for a little rework!!

Did you have a chance to order the Milw Freight Car book yet? Volume One has five nice views of rotaries. In black and yellow paint schemes.

I have a shot or two of a rotary in Tide Flats yard. Yellow with a F unit B unit snail like the SP used on theirs.

Greg, The artical said the diesel units often had B units with them. Ken, I guess I'm going to have to get those books if I keep modeling odd ball cars. Only thing is that they want $40 to $45 apiece for them, kinda steep for my finances, just have to save up for them and stop buying models until I get them!!
