Open hoppers, 2 bays, three bays, four bays, five bays, Topgons, Double tubs, etc. Got over 200 of them. Around here unit coal trains and stack trains is mostly what one sees . Car carriers are third along with covered hoppers with tank cars number four.

    Ken...

Since it wont open anyways...find the file on your PC...right click and 'rename' it. Drop off the last x in the extension '.xslx' and save the rename. Then try to open it. I have done this with different files over the years and it worked. If it dont open...nothing lost...you can always rename it again and add the last 'x' back on. ;)

It is just the "newer" version of Excel file (introduced with MS Office 2007), similar to the .doc vs .docx . There is an Excel add on to allow Office 2003 versions to open "x" files. But, let me open, save in xls version, and post for those having issues

My favorite type in general is the covered hopper, especially the INTERMOUTAIN clyondrical (I have 7) then it would be tank cars, the ones that slope in like corn syrup tanks and the larger ones

Gee... to pick 'one' style of car as your favorite is like choosing which of your children is the favorite... ;)

I think Tank Cars are very interesting... and there are various sizes and styles to pick from.
From a purely aesthetic view though... the pre-1937 wood side reefers with all the colorful advertising are the most interesting rolling stock for me.
Unfortunately... I have to re-write history and not have them banned in 1937... because my interest in era is 195o to 1970.

Manitobamodeler24 asked if I model Galveston. I model "my version of Galveston." I tried to write a private message so as not to clog up this thread but I got an indication I cannot write a message over 240 characters, and I am too long winded.

It works here Randy. I can open your original file on my iPhone just fine. It's a roster of your tank cars.

Bowser's PRR H21 hoppers and N5 series cabin cars, and Red Caboose's X29 boxcars. FVM's B&O wagontops are close runners up.

It should be a lot more than just tank cars...
There should be a half dozen pages

FVM B&O wagontop boxcars and their B&O cabooses are on my roster and definite favors. I like the express boxcars in a passenger train as head end cars.

I guess the point I was trying to make with my roster is that I think it is probably the same as other modelers doing the transition era , there are some huge holes in the fleet that cannot be filled with currently available models. Stock cars come to mind...
I'm trying to get a sense of proportion to the fleet, since I model the Milwaukee I want to have a large proportion of the fleet to be home road cars and this I have not accomplished, I have to wait for another round of rib side releases from Fox Valley to continue. Other car types are really hit and miss.

I think I am short on foreign boxcars as well I think the majority of foreign cars would be from the connecting RRs but I am short on CNW and SOO cars...

I guess my all-time favorite freight cars would be Red Caboose coil cars and M/T covered gons. Also. any Bicentennial stuff. Plus, any MOW equipment. I'll just stop now before I say I like 'em all !!!

Not a specific body style in either case but...

    1) Billboard refrigerator cars
    2) Incentive per-diem boxcars, with all their colorful schemes for shortline railroads that one might never have heard of otherwise

Wow very nice, when I saw the bridge I thought it was Galveston and the sulfur you can't drive directly to the museum without passing it! Very nice to see that someone is modeling it, it has always begged to be modeled I think.
