    Hi all,
I am trying to lay roadbed on my layout and have a question for you all.

Can someone take some pictures of how you laid the roadbed for your sidings? I saw that Midwest Cork has a new product out for sidings, but haven't seen it in any stores yet.

Thanks for any suggestions and help you can give.

    Matt:

My idea on this is to make the siding lower than the mainline. For N scale, I use cork for the main and put the siding track directly on the foam I use for a base. If HO, you can probably get some cork of different heights for both. I taper from high to low using foam shims that are easily sanded to make an incline.

Nice pine paneling in the den!!

    Flash,
Thanks for the advice, I'll see what I can do. Would you recommed that I put my yard and everything right on the table too?

I don't know if you've looked at my gallery, but I have other pics of the layout room, which is the basement. The control panel will be built this summer and there will be a sliding, boxcar-type door covering the opening

To give your layout some depth of field and increase the scenicking possibilities, you might want to consider raising the grades on your yard and sidings. I have done this with my layout and it provided me with interesting levels to scenic.. Just a thought for you to consider. ;) ;)
