I have to attend a conference for new SCORE Chapter Chairs in Portland, Maine, on August 17, 18, and 19, and plan to drive my new Chrysler Town & Country from here. It's approximately 1500 miles, so thought I'd break it up into three 500 mile segments. Will drive to Chattanooga, spend 2 nights there, seeing TVRM, then drive to Gettysburg, thought I'd spend one night there and see the battlefield and drive over to the RR Museum of PA and stay in the Strasburg area the next night. Then drive from there to Portland. Going back, thought I'd drive to Baltimore (gotta get to woo woo woo's!). How long a drive is it from there to Williamsburg? From there go down 95 to Savannah. Now I know there are a folks on here from both Maine and Maryland, and a couple from Pennsylvania so thought I'd ask for recommendations on hotels-motels and some idea as to whether or not I'm trying to drive too far in a day, as I haven't driven North of Georgia in at least 25 years. Also, any recommendations as to things to see (I know the B&O Museum won't be open yet.) If any of y'all want to meet for a drink or dinner, let me know as well. You can e-mail me through Trainboard.
