Does anyone have a date handy for when the RGS ceased operations? My notes show 1952. Is this correct? Was it also abandoned that same date? Did the RGS ever do it's own dispatching? Any reference I've seen, shows that it was handled by the D&RGW. I have some RGS train orders. All but one is on D&RGW form. Boxcab E50
12-27-1951 The 464 again travels from Durango to Mancos, picking up the empties from the Dec 19th shipment. This is the last revenue freight operation on the line. 1-14-1952 Formal application to abandon is filed. 4-24-1952 Permission is granted for abandonment. 6-17-1953 Scrapping of the line is completed.
