I'm in need of prototype photos of Milwaukee's Rib Side boxcars. Some cars came with different doors than others and I'd like to see the differences to model car #18652 accurately. Is there a good online source of Milwaukee road photos? The Fallen Flags site has only a handful rib side boxcars and I haven't been able to find anything at all on the Milw. Road Historical Society website. Thanks.

Pat Morning Sun's Mil. Rd. Color guide to freight and Passenger Equip. lists the 18000-19187 and one group. That's a bunch of boxcars. These car had full lenght ribs and panel type camel doors that were also ribbed and 5-5 dreadnaught ends. the pic in the book has it lettered in the 'Route of the Hiawatha ' scheme. They were similar to these, but the door also were ribbed.
Andy, Get the Morning Sun Book, there are a lot of Rib Side variations, the Book covers them well. Both 40 and 50 ft rib sides, in a lot of variation are pictured.

I have built 2 of these's RIB-SIDE car's And i am very pleased with them even Went as far as putting brake rigging's on them. Also I would like to know if any-one can help me find some STRIAT FRAME OR DROP FRAME TRUCK'S for the RIB-SIDE CABOSSE'S? any help would be very much welcome. Thank's H.D
Ron, now you are starting to sound like Boxcab! He's been trying to get me to buy those books for over a year now. They cost about $40 a book around here and I can buy a few more models with $40! Last weekend I went to a sale and I had one book in my hand, then I spoted a P2K GP9 ph2 at a great price, so back went the book.
I wonder if you could buy any from Overland? They usually have spares as repair parts. Might be worth asking. They'd be brass. So could be a bit spendy. Boxcab E50

BTW, why did these cars have horizontal ribs? Strength? Just like vertical ribs? Why so few made? Some Milw cabooses also had horizontal ribs.
