Reverse section or not?

    Here's my track plan:

A quick description: Double track main, around-the-room layout with liftout section for continuous running. Off the main is a single-ended staging yard the is below the main. One way in to staging, one way out. When departing staging, train will only go ONE way(counterclockwise).

The problem :( : When I wired the layout using the buss wires connected to a Digitrax DB150, (blue-back, red-front)I also connected the track from the staging AS IF it were a passing siding. When I tried to run an engine to/from staging. It would slow down as if there was a short. So I double gapped it. I have disconnected the leads for the staging tracks and have not tried to run any engines don there. Is the staging a reverse section or not? And why? And what to do if problem persists? I have a DB100 to use as a reverse module if I need to.

    Thanks

There are no reverse loops in your plan. None, Nada.

The symptoms of a short (overload) in DCC is the booster will shut down and the train will stop immediately.

What it sounds like is a poor connection of the power to the track. Are you running power drops from each piece of track to the buss? I would recommend that. Don't rely on the rail connectors or the switch points to power anything.
