Last Friday, I got caught in a 2-hour deluge at the train park. The water was knee deep in the road, so I just ran trains until it drained off and dried out a little. I had my cell phone, and called my young bride and told her not to worry, that I would stay put for a while. (Bonus!!!)

Around 4pm, when the storm hit with a vengance, I got this grab shot. It is not a great composition, but the way the sun was dancing between the sheets of wind-driven rain lent a soggy look to this scene that I could not pass up!

Doesn't the rail look wet and the whole scene damp? Natural sunlight. Real rain (outside). Very high humidity indoors. Tripod. Timer. Long exposure. Wierd, huh?

BTW, see the 3rd Black Widow? Check the SP BW RSD update topic for details........

    More retirement goodies:

My co-workers in Corporate Data Services passed the hat and gave me a very generous cash gift to spend toward the hobby.

I had figured, well, that B&M 4-4-0 will be here soon, and it could be my retirement gift from them, but that did not work out as well as I had hoped. My E-seller took that little steamer back for a full refund, no questions asked, and I bought the pair of B&M FTs from him on closeout instead. Now that was a great deal! I'll post their track test later, and you will see what I mean..... :D

The first car is a WP bulkhead flat car by Athearn, with a few modifications by the husband of my data administrator. All of the DA's and DBA's contributed business cards, and the car will just exactly hold them all. The gift card said they would be expecting photo documentation of their "vicarious passenger" status, so I shot this one, since it shows the pair of locos they gave me, and the vicarious passenger car, too.

(No, it won't fit under bridges or through the tunnels, but I don't plan to tell them) [IMG]

If any former co-workers visit this forum, you won't have to tell them the car/cards don't fit the layout.
    They'll find out themselves!! :D :D

It does look that way! An interesting effect, never to be duplicated.
