that's the motor was in properly, I put it in backwards the other day and watched the frame and my NW2 creep close to each other. :frustrated:

I think it was the tabs because they for some reason were bent up and kept getting caught on the side of the frame half tabs instead of where they were supposed to be.

I assume from the reply that it is back running or still not running?

She's running, tough old girl's survived two falls. On my old layout there was a gap between the rails and she took it landing on the MTL which didn't break amazingly, then on the 4 x 6 that never was the layout collapsed and she ran a bit weird after that but was still smooth. I'm beginning to think I'm terrible at this woo woo woo...

The older Kato built mechanisms are dang near indestructible. And the older RS series are about some of the best running and forgiving of track conditions. Many years ago we had a couple of RS-3s on my Son's layout with what I would call rough track work which was probably an understatement. The only engines that ran reliably on that layout. I used to say if you could get current through the carpeting on the floor they would run there too.

And messing with the different aspects of model railroading is a learning curve that takes time and something you eventually gain experience with. And none of us old timers are perfect either. We all manage to mess up from time to time and the experience of the years usually kicks in allowing us to study and figure out what we went oops with. And if we don't then airing it out here on this board gets some more minds involved and usually someone comes up with a solution.

yeah, I wish I could test my wings on something other than a 2 x 4 layout but that all the space I have at the moment. I was asking around while trying to fix #50 and I got a lot of help. I'm very grateful for that. that and they say great minds think alike, plus there's probably thousands of years worth of MRRing knowledge here alone.

From what I have done, seen and heard, through the many years, I believe this is a thought which most of us have known.

But virtually all of us survive it, ending up doing quite well and having a lot of fun!

Sorry about that, I thought Atlas deleted the shells after they sold out based on past practices. Bummer on that as it is a really neat shell!
