Dug the K27 out tonight, to check out the drive train. Finally! Have discovered that I have at least 4 loose counterweights on the locomotive!! Does anyone know how/where I can have the drive train repaired, so I can actually run this locomotive again?? Somewhere that will NOT break the bank?? I can NOT order new counterweights, direct from Bachmann, as they do NOT have the parts in stock any longer. Prefer local, as I'm not sure I want to ship this beast!! Any and all information is much appreciated!! Thanks.
This post is back after some tinkering due to a discussion that went far off the rails. Any that have ideas to help Keith, please post those. If you feel the need to get into "attack" mode, please don't bother.
First off, thanks for the help! Now then, I did take a look at Bachmann website, and they DO show counterweights as being available. What do I need, to remove counterweights? I've seen reference to screws, but looks like a very small Allen wrench is needed to begin with? Might know more too, if I'd pull out the CD that came with the unit and watch it!! Have a couple of ideas now, for repair. Just a couple of minor disassembly questions. Again, Any help and/or information is appreciated. Thanks.
Reorganized the closet last night. Had to put my Lionel Hogwarts train away finally!! Got rid of some stuff, and condensed a bit more. Found my instructions and DVD. Now, to throw into computer and watch!! TRIED to order counterweight set as well. Bachmann checkout indicated they Could NOT process my card at this time and to try a difference payment source. So, that's on hold for now. Oh well, I do know about the shimming process, IF I have to go that way.
