As I have some time off, I'm busy repainting all the G scale I have in stock. I started on some coal hoppers. I like the two tone paint scheme you see now everywhere on the modern coal hoppers. And then I have to weather all that stuff as well! paul ------------------ Paul Van Herwegen Rappannahock Terminal Railway [This message has been edited by Rappannahock Terminal (edited 20 September 2000).]
Nice work Paul. A string of these will look outstanding. I'd love to have only about 5-6 of these hoppers but I can't seem to find any. Are they still being manufactured? Dave ------------------ Dave Winter Owner/Operator Winter Valley Regional Railway
Dave, I'm pretty sure that Trainworld in NY still has these cars in stock, of course not undecorated ones. The price of LGB is rather high I presume around $60.00. I bought my cars at an auction in Belgium for around $40.00. But I have also a rake of 12 hoppers of Bachmann I bought from their closeout sales for $20.00 a piece. I'm pretty sure that after repainting, kadee couplers and metal wheels they will look as fine as the LGB ones. Paul ------------------ Paul Van Herwegen Rappannahock Terminal Railway
