Bill k, are you the one who repaints the engines? or am I thinking of another bill. there are so many Bills. If you do how much would you charge to repaint a c44 in to a CSX, and I dont have the decals.
No, sorry. I haven't developed the skill of airbrushing yet. Its one of the 40 skills it takes to be a modeler, I know. At least I bought a compressor, tank, regulator, dryer and airbrush this year. But the skill is yet to be developed. There are several good painters on the Z_Scale list, so a posting there should get you some offline responses. And there are two good decal makers (Alps printers) on the same list (Michael and Tim). Bill K. Houston
I need to spend a weekend over at Bill's and teach him how to use an airbrush. Maybe we can repaint all those Marklin passenger cars he stripped.
The May/June 2003 issue of Ztrack featured an article on painting the C44s into CSX and Conrail liveries. Check out the photo in the lower right corner. The shells were even modified slightly to match the prototype. - Rob Kluz
I love the way the C44 looks in the CSX color scheme. I think the Norfork doesn't show off the nice lines of the C44. I think I am going to have to order the June 2003 issue. Rob, its it still in stock?
I agree. I really like the CSX paint scheme. The SD40-2 in that paint scheme is one of my favorites. Yes the issue is still available. The code is 9.3. Price is $6.00 which includes the mailing cost. Rob Kluz
