Was looking for something else on Google maps and came across this rail car shop. Its a bit south of Birmingham AL. Reminds me a lot of a layout and would probably make a cool layout.

Could even be a 1:1 layout... Life imitates hobby? :ROFLMAO:

A roundy-round and some switching action. It's even filled up with rolling stock just as much as a scale layout would be.

    Way cool and a half!

I thought it might be the site of a former coal fired generating plant with a loop track, but I don't think there was ever one in Calera, AL. Calera is however, home to the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum and a crossing of former L&N and SOU mainlines. From 10/15/1998.

It would be about a 16' X 6.5' N scale layout, if my estimates and calculations are correct.

That would be about 12' by 5' in Z scale. Or about 6' x 3' in T scale.

    In HO it's about 32' x 13'...

Yikes... but the big kid in me says "bring it on!!!"
