DIESEL DIESEL:sad: DIESEL:startled: DIESEL:droll: DIESEL I have a Bose CD Player that will fit perfectly under the pike. My queston is does someone make CD Rail Road Sound Tracks to play while the trains are in operation. Something with quality and length. This is a DC pike and I don't want to start mounting sound decoders or any decoders. I really enjoy my block & cab operation. Nothing against DCC at all in the least. I just chose on this hobby to stay where I started. So far I have no regrets............... I listened to a few of the popular sound machines with a remote but they just sounded toyish (Hollow Echo) mostly. Plus a general CD Diesel Sound Track with a variaty of decent rail road sounds, would probably do this red neck HOBO just fine. Including the bonus of not holding a remote. Any suggestions would be greatly accepted, Diesel Dan & Coach Cliff
For railroad sound effects one spot you might try is this one Sleep on a Train is one I purchased on a lark and enjoy. http://trakworks.com/products.html http://railroadcatalog.com Another spot would be these folks. I have bought steam cd's from them but they do have some diesel cuts. http://www.daylightsales.com/index.php/cPath/2_12 You may just have to compile your own and build a sound set. I have converted mine over to my Iphone and listen to them while I am out walking for exercise. Mark
You could always go to http://sounddogs.com/ and type trains into search. You can even refine your search to Diesel Trains...there are 480 files in that category alone !!! There are pages after pages of train sounds !!! You will get a gazzillion train sounds. You can click on them and download all you want. Audacity® is a free, open source, cross-platform software for recording and editing sounds. You can splice...repeat and play with all the train sounds you downloaded, and in the end you can make your own CD. I have 2 CD's I made for my layout. Both left and right channels on each CD have different sounds. I have an older CD player and have one channel going to a speaker under the layout below the enginehouse. The other channel is to a speaker under the layout by the fuel island. I just click on 'repeat' and even if the file is small...it just keeps going !! It works pretty well for my needs ;-)
Thanks guys, it's more than I expected. Your right, I'm gonna hear trains all night . I selected 21 so far on one. Will have to wait till tomorrow night to check out the other. Again, dead on ! Cliff
