I am planning a 7 or 8 track double ended yard and would like to know what size Peco turnouts I should use, large radius or medium radius? I have never made a yard before and any help would be apprecaited.

you can get by with mediums but the large makes it run smoother and less prone to problems with yarding trains especially long cars such as autoracks or flats. i have mediums on my back tracks where there is no real traffic and larges on the rest.

    I think:

    small #4
    medium #6
    large #8

The larger the better, but 4 is just about too small for anything but an 0-4-0 steam engine. I would go no smaller than medium. Go large if you can.

NMRA track planning has some different yard ladder configurations that will save space, too. Try to ask the question on the track planning forum or just check the NMRA website.

If I'm not mistaken, the angle on all Peco turnouts is the same. The only difference is the length of rail. Except of course for those darling little 8" (well, close!) radius Setrack switches! LOL
