Did BN put plows on the rear of their diesels? I've just searched briefly and did not see any. Thanks.

Maybe some of the ex-GN long hood forward Geeps carried their's over to BN colours but I don't recall any post-merger units coming from the factory fitted.

For post-merger, some SLSF units had plows on both ends (well, their own unique plow style) Off hand I can't remember which units...GP15s and SD45s I believe. Can't think of any BN "from the factory" units with plows on both ends. If you have an hour to spare you can spot check this site: http://archive.trainpix.com/BN/ROSTER.HTM Excellent photo reference source for BN locos!

    Best Regards -Mike

Thanks, Mike. I have a GP40M and an SD40-2. I will bookmark this roster website.

Flash. Are you crossing over to the Dark "Green" side :) Some units had two but it generally was engine specific. Suggest you look up the road numbers on the link provided by SLSF Freak.

I have seen GP9's that were used on the Camas Prairie that had plows on both ends. Also 2 of the Sub's had no place to turn engines so I imagine all engines used had to have plows on both ends as there was snow a plenty. Would be GP38's, GP40's, and GP9's mainly.
