A friend has a house in Cobelskill and he wants to know how many CP trains run through on the old D&H tracks these days. Any help would be appreciated. Times or rough estimates would be great too.
Hi John, Cobleskill sees 3 regular trains each way daily plus a fourth southbound thrice a week. There are several coal trains a week, but they do not operate on a set schedule. Plus there are occassional extras. Regular Trains Southbound 550 very early morning - from Montreal 554 close to the time of 550 from Montreal - usually containers - 3/week 272 late evening - from Saratoga and Guilford 269 late morning - from Albany NS containers Northbound 555 late afternoon - to Montreal 273 early morning - to Saratoga and Guilford 268 mid-day - to Albany NS Containers & power 8858 & 8859 are coal trains loads & emties can run anytime Hope this helps.
