The Sunset was early in Houston today. Maybe because of the full moon?

Seen this before, I think it's so snow and ice don't build-up in the latching mechanism so it's easily opened at it's destination.

The Dublin & Kingstown Railway was built in Ireland as a freight line in 1834. However it soon became very popular with passengers who would ride wherever they could on the goods wagons until coaches were provided. It thus became the first "Commuter Railroad" in the world preceding the London & Greenwich Railway commuter service by a few years. Some accounts claim that the London & Greenwich was first. Kingstown Harbor eventually became Rosslare Harbor and commuter trains still run on the line. This was taken in August of 2017. IMG_1418.jpg

Cute little bugger. Plenty of spare trolley poles too! :p Must be N or Z scale. I hope there's never a G scale version...

What I really like about that station scene is that rock wall in the background. Lots of interesting detail and a great modeling project. :)

From 04/05/1989 two shots at at Gallitzin, PA at the summit of the Alleghenies on the former PRR mainline. The first is at 'UN' Interlocking. The track to the right curves around to connect with the two other main line tracks at AR Tower seen in the second picture. The two mains are separated by about 1/4 mile. An engine terminal was once present on the curved connecting track, used to service and turn helper locomotives.

I don't know what remains here today. AR Tower is in ruin and is slated to be razed.

PS: I think it rained the entire week when I was there

A few years ago, my dog was having a fit in the backyard, staring one down. HO scale.

It's hard to be humble with all these towns named after me. There's one here in Minnesota, about 40 miles away, too.

Don't forget, Burt and Dolly made a movie about it, too.

Lord have mercy on our souls!
