I really don't know. I suppose it could somehow be determined with the date and location known.

Sharing Santa Fe #3781 Northern 4-8-4 Steam Locomotive added to my "History of BNSF" Model Railroad Layout. Took picture as B&W for added realism. And one color 4-8-4 Steam next to ol Santa Fe Blue Bonnet.

    Building a tunnel.

I-75 through downtown Dayton, OH was originally an over-reach... both politically and socio-economically... or in other words, a MESS!!!

Elevated throughout the downtown area, it was plagued with multiple overpass bridges and a serpentine route. Add to that, it had multiple ramps that required overlaps of exiting AND merging traffic and odd entries and exits from the left hand lanes!

Finally, a few years ago, almost all of the roadway was completely rebuilt (took longer than the original) with an elimination of many ramps (only one super ramp to downtown) and encased earthen berms replacing many bridges (safer in winter, using less earth than traditional berms and no mowing).

This is a pic of a "tunnel" roof being placed at a spur underpass. Once completed, the roof was covered with earth and the new 6+ lane roadway. This eliminated a bridge that originally spanned both the spur, mainline and surface street.

You can see part of the old continuous bridge in the background.

Great photo, though no sense of need for the plow. However the highway department will be very upset when they have to replow the grade crossing. LOL

I think they were making sure that there were not any more drifts on the branch line that would hamper trains from going through.

Nice plow.....I have a model of a similar plow except it was made with a wooden Gondola! Nice to see a 1:1 example!

    Thanks Mr Burton!
